The Question List:
Project Calico is an evolving experiment. Our purpose is to stimulate intellectual minds to collaborate, create, and transform the way the world at-large thinks. We chose the multi-colored Calico cat for its diversity of pattern and color and its uniformity as one living entity, oblivious to the differences of its colors and patterns.
You can share this book/website with others—particularly with those who can help push the message further. If you know a publisher or producer, or if you know someone who knows others in literary, media, or theatrical businesses, share this work with them.
You can help defray Project Calico’s costs (in time and money) by donating to Project Calico, LLC. (In the near future, there will be a way to do this as well as rewards for those who have donated, and incentives for new intellectuals to contribute. For now, reading it and talking about it is the best way to help.)
The Manual for Living is our first, main effort to reach (and create) powerful intellectuals, but this is not (yet) our primary source of income, which is why it is slow-going for now. Your money helps us get closer to being full-time writers, artists, and producers.
Lastly, take our advice. Live the Manual for Living, and, as you see fit, share how you have become what you are, to others who want to become who they think they are.
Michael James Salamey's response: "Endoepisteme" is from Greek roots: "Endo" meaning "within" and "Episteme" meaning "knowledge". Before I began building a philosophy, I considered myself "Agnostic" (from Latin roots; "A" for "without", and "Gnostic" meaning "knowledge"). Agnosticism begs for a “get-out-of-jail free card”. It assumes I can make an intelligent decision about God, or other matters of consequence. Endoepisteme—“Within knowledge”—is dependent on rational thinking instead of faith or ignorance. It implies truth is "Within Knowledge" and demands our conscious use of it.
Michael James Salamey's response: When I hear this question, I know the questioner typically assumes that she and I agree on basic aspects of what "God" is. The question often is merely testing if my answer will equate to "Yes, we have some sort of common ground, spiritually". It is often easier to answer a more specific question: Do I believe in a sentient, humanistic, omniscient and omnipotent entity that has pre-ordained the destiny of every individual, and to whom I must seek approval or expect judgment for any action I choose in life…? NO. I do not.
What moral compass guides you?
Michael James Salamey's response: I am the moral compass that guides my life. I rely on the tools I have to deal with Reality: Responsibility, Reason, Rationality, and Logic. I accept Responsibility for my life and all things in it. I am not a victim of circumstances because my life is mine to control and create. When I face what at first seem like tough choices, I use Reason to determine the fundamental value of each choice, accepting that A is A, and therefore understand there are no contradictions and thus my choice is made clear by examining what I hope to gain through either option. I then use Logic to determine the best option and Rationalize the proper course to reach my fundamental goal.
